Air Quality Committee
The Air Quality Committee (AQC) was established in 2008 for the purpose of providing a forum for the Wasatch Front Regional Council to be informed on air quality issues and to pursue opportunities to improve air quality within the context of transportation planning. The Air Quality Committee recommends emission reducing transportation strategies for inclusion in the Regional Transportation Plan and Transportation Improvement Program adopted by the Council, informs the Council on emerging air quality issues and federal rules and regulations, cooperates with the State Division of Air Quality in developing the mobile source elements of the State Implementation Plan, responds to the public on air quality impacts of transportation plans, and informs the Council on air quality issues and control strategies not directly related to transportation.
The WFRC Air Quality Committee is chaired by Mayor JoAnn B. Seghini of Midvale City. Other Air Quality Committee members are shown in the list below. Representatives from citizen groups and other stakeholders in air quality are also notified and invited to participate in AQC meetings.Click here for current AQC Membership list.
Air quality issues will be addressed during the Regional Growth Committee (RGC) meetings. Please visit the RGC page for the meeting schedule.
